Groundcrew CFS3 Searchlights Version 1.1

New Illumination effects by wolficatz

INSTALLATION:

If you have previously downloaded the Groundcrew Nightmission (the one with Starrynite's Halifax and the searchlights), delete the following folders from your CFS3\Vehicles folder:

gc_searchlight_blue

gc_searchlight_white

Next unzip this pack into your main CFS3 folder which is by default
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Combat Flight Simulator 3\
This will probably overwrite some older Groundcrew facility files. Don't worry, that's ok. :)

Next open the file "ADD TO EFFECTS.XML" (which should be located in your main CFS3 folder after unzipping) using an xml editor or a text editor such as Notepad and copy and past the both entries

flak_search_illumination

and

flak_search_illumination_blue

into CFS3's "effects.xml" file

If you are using a text editor make sure to format the file properly.
If you are unsure how to do that get yourself one of the many free xml editors off the web (google for "xml editor") or ask for help on the friendly CFS3 Forum at Sim-Outhouse.

HOW TO USE:

You can place the searchlights in user made missions as facilities.

There are 4 facility files included:

gc_flak5:

5 flak guns (random picktypes) in a line of approximately 200 meters

gc_search_flak_1:

Size 1000x1000 meters

8 flak guns (random picktypes)
1 blue searchlight at the center ("radar guided")
4 white searchlights around
5 "invisible" dummy lights to add to the illumination

gc_search_flak_2:

Size 1500x1500 meters

8 flak guns (random picktypes)
1 blue searchlight at the center ("radar guided")
4 white searchlights around
5 "invisible" dummy lights to add to the illumination

gc_searchlights:

Size 1500x1500 meters

1 blue searchlight at the center ("radar guided")
4 white searchlights around
10 "invisible" dummy lights to add to the illumination
no flak guns
